Bilbs AI
[ Careers · we hire rarely ] 0 open roles · Q2 2026

No open seats.
Door still open.

Bilbs AI is deliberately small. We take five engagements per quarter, staffed by one senior operator - me. That constraint is the product. Growing the team dilutes it.

That said: if you're a staff-level AI / infra engineer who's shipped something I'd recognise, and you want to work on private-AI deployments at the highest-trust tier of the market - write.

[ Who we'd hire ]
Yes
  • You've shipped a production LLM system that >1000 real users touched daily.
  • You can fine-tune Gemma 4 12B / 27B (LoRA + full-rank) without hand-holding, and you've done the quantisation math.
  • You write the eval suite first. Always.
  • Comfortable on Rust or Go when the Python hits a wall. Comfortable with the hardware when the runtime hits a wall.
  • You'd rather explain a trade-off to a CFO than win an argument with an LLM benchmark.
  • You enjoy writing runbooks. Actually enjoy.
No
  • "I've prompt-engineered GPT-4 to do X on my side project."
  • You want to lead a team of 30, not write code.
  • You prefer frameworks to fundamentals - JAX-via-Jupyter but can't read a CUDA trace.
  • You need a 2,000-word JD to tell you whether you're interested.
  • You believe "move fast and break things" applies to production medical data.
[ How we'd work together ]

Four shapes a collab can take.

01 Partner

Co-lead an engagement

Take a client alongside me as a second operator. Split revenue, split on-call, share the slack line.

02 Subcontract

Own a sub-system

Pick a narrow slice - eval harness, inference runtime, RAG pipeline - and ship it end-to-end on a single engagement.

03 Advisor

Review my work

Two calls a month, eyeball my architecture, push back when I'm being lazy. Best for senior ex-FAANG still shipping.

04 Staff eng

Full-time, eventually

Not today. When revenue and pipeline say so, the first full-time hire will be a staff AI engineer with equity.

Write anyway.

If you match the "yes" column above, send one email to careers@groupebilbs.com with: one production system you're proud of, one thing you've argued about with another AI engineer recently, and the shape of the collab you want. No cover letter, no CV PDF. Reply within 72 hours - I read everything.
